The Staunton Braves bounced back from a Monday loss with a 12-3 win Tuesday over Covington.
Andrew Czech (Walsh) continued to terrorize VBL pitching with two doubles and five RBIs.
The bottom third of the Braves order combined for 10 hits. Casey Haire (High Point) and Kent Rooklin (West Virginia Tech) were both 4-for-5 and both had two RBIs. Logan Flood (Saint Leo) was 2-fo-4.
Ryan McCarty (PSU-Abington) allowed three runs in the first but blanked the Jacks over the next five innings to get the win. Tanner James (Roanoke) and Ryan Smith (College of Charleston) combined for three shutout innings.
On Monday, the Braves dropped an 11-3 contest to Charlottesville. McCarty had two RBIs and Chet Moore (Miami) was 1-for-3 with one run batted in.
