The Braves ran their winning streak to four straight and improved to 9-3 on the season with an 8-5 win over the Charlottesville Tom Sox.
The Tom Sox took advantage of three Staunton errors to score three unearned runs for an early 3-0 lead.
The Braves answered with six runs in the third inning and led the rest of the way. The Braves loaded the bases with no outs on a walk to Casey Haire (High Point) and singles by Kent Rooklin (West Virginia Tech) and Logan Flood (Saint Leo). With the sacks still full and two outs, Devon Adams (George Mason) cleared the bases with a double to tie the score 3-3. Adams scored on a single by Logan Worley (Young Harris) and Ron Brown (Houston) followed with a two-run homer to give the Braves a 6-3 lead.
Tanner James (Roanoke) picked up the win with 2.1 innings of relief work. He allowed two runs on two hits while striking out two and walking two.
Hunter Illing (Charleston Southern) earned the save with 3.1 scoreless innings. He allowed two hits and struck out three.
