BRAVES SIGN TWO PITCHERS FROM RIDER UNIVERSITY

The Staunton Braves have added a pair of pitchers to their roster for the 2010 summer season.

Nate Eppley, a junior righthander, played for the Braves in 2009 and was solid out of the bullpen where he was 2-0 with 1 save and a 4.43 ERA in 15 appearances. He will work out of the pen this spring at Rider, possibly as the team’s closer.

Joe Calogero, a freshman lefty, should play a prominent role on the Rider staff.  Broncos head coach Barry Davis expects the first-year hurler to compete for a spot in the starting rotation.
