CHOWAN TEAMMATES COMMIT TO PLAY FOR BRAVES

Chowan sophomores Ryan Bradshaw and Justin Bagbey have committed to play for the Staunton Braves during the upcoming summer season.

Bradshaw posted a 5-2 record and a 2.92 ERA in his freshman season at Chowan. He struck out 40 batters in 66.2 innings and opponents hit for a .261 average against the 6-foot-5 righthander. He will be Chowan’s No. 1 starter this spring.

Bagbey established himself as one of the top power hitters in Division II during his freshman year. The sophomore first baseman led all Division II hitters with a .955 slugging percentage. He finished his freshman year with 17 doubles, 17 homers and a .465 batting average.
