Wilkes Signs Pro Contract

Former Braves pitcher Brandon Wilkes (Bethune-Cookman) has signed a pro contract with Evansville in the independent Frontier League

Wilkes had a strong senior season as a two-way player for Bethune Cookman. Wilkes served as BCU’s closer and had five saves. He led the team with a 2.04 ERA, .202 opponents’ average, and 11.72 strikeouts per-game. He registered 46 strikeouts to 11 walks in 16 appearances and 35 innings.

Offensively, he carried a .298 average with seven doubles, one triple, four home runs, and 28 RBI. He was perfect in seven stolen base attempts.
