Houston Duo Headed To Staunton

The Braves have signed two players from the University of Houston – LHP Clay Aguilar and 1B/DH Ron Brown.

Aguilar is coming back from arm surgery but should be ready for the spring and will compete for a starting spot in the rotation. Aguilar posted impressive numbers before being sidelined last year. He made five appearances and pitched 14.2 innings. He allowed just seven hits and four walks while striking out 17.

Brown saw limited time as a freshman in 2018 with 37 AB, but had a productive summer in the West Coast League where he hit six homers. Brown was an all-star and won the league’s Home Run Derby. Brown also pitched during the summer and could see action on the mound this spring for Houston.
