Braves Drop 12-Inning Game To Rebels

The Braves dropped a tough 12-inning 8-7 contest on Sunday to New Market. Staunton rallied from a 6-0 deficit to tie the score at 7-7, but New Market won the game with a solo homer in the 12th.

The Braves received a huge effort from reliever Ryan Brewer (Eastern Mennonite). Brewer allowed just one run on three hits in 5.2 innings. Matt Thomas (Trinity) pitched two perfect innings, striking out four of the six batters he faced and Brandon Wilkes (Bethune Cookman) added two shutout innings.

Trey Jacobs (UNC-Pembroke) was 4-for-6 with two doubles and Brandon Hernandez (UCF) was 4-for-7. Will Simoneit (Cornell) was 2-for-4 with a homer and double while Bryson Parks (Western Carolina) was 2-for-6 with a solo homer.
