Cooperman Pitches Braves Past Tom Sox

The Braves picked up a key road victory Friday with a 3-1 win over the Charlottesville Tom Sox.
RHP Chad Cooperman (Bloomsburg) dominated the Sox, allowing just one run on four hits in eight innings. He struck out 10 batters. Brandon Wilkes (Bethune-Cookman) worked the ninth for his fifth save.
Brett Willett (VCU) snapped a scoreless tie with a two-run homer in the sixth. Reagan Wright (Jacksonville) drove in an insurance run with a single in the seventh. Bryson Parks (Western Carolina) was 2-for-3 at the plate for the Braves.
