Jacks Walk Off With 5-4 Win Over Braves

COVINGTON – Covington’s JD Mundy hit a two-out, two-run walk-off homer in the bottom of the ninth Saturday night to lift the Lumberjacks to a 5-4 victory over the Staunton Braves.

Cole Swiger (Bllomsburg) hit a two-run double in the second put the Braves up 3-1 and Eric Conner (Walsh) ) added an RBI-single in the fifth made it 4-1.

The Jacks scored two in the eighth and two in the ninth to take the win.

Starting pitcher Nick Stoner (Bloomsburg) turned in a strong start for the Braves, allowing just one run in six innings. Stoner allowed eight hits. He struck out four and did not walk a batter.
