Braves Sign Three Players From VCU

The Staunton Braves have signed three players from VCU to play with the team next summer.

Brett Willett, an IF/OF, to play with the team next summer. Willett started 33 games as a freshman and hit .273 with three homers and 18 RBIs.

The Braves have signed VCU infielder Steven Carpenter to play next summer. Carpenter played in 38 games as a freshman for the Rams and hit .287. Last summer he played for the Valley Baseball League Champions, the Charlottesville Tom Sox, and hit over .300 for the summer.

The Braves have signed three players from VCU to play next summer. The first is RHP Sam Ryan. Sam pitched sparingly as a freshman for the Rams, but logged a lot of innings last summer for the Sag Harbor Whalers in the Hamptons Collegiate Baseball League. Sam led the league in innings pitched with 48.2 and strikeouts with 52 while posting a 2-5 record. The Rams expect to have a bigger role on their staff this spring
