Braves Add Two Royals To 2018 Roster

The Braves have signed two players from nearby D-III program Eastern Mennonite University.

The first is local product Zach Roberts who played his high school baseball at Riverheads. Roberts, who is a junior at EMU, played last summer in the New York Collegiate Baseball League where he was an all-star and was named to the All-NYCBL first team at the end of the season at shortstop. Roberts hit for a .366 average in the regular season with six doubles, four triples and two doubles. He had a stellar .960 fielding percentage at SS. In four playoff games, Roberts was 7-for-15 for a .467 batting average.

The second Eastern Mennonite player to sign with the Braves is RHP Bailey Hall. Hall was a teammate last summer with Roberts in the NYCBL this past summer and was a second-team All-NYCBL selection. Hall led the Genesee Rapids in appearances with 17 and saves with four. He was 3-1 with a 2.07 ERA and 20 Ks. in 21.2 innings.
