Braves Down Express For Second Straight Win

The Staunton Braves downed the Strasburg Express 4-3 in 10 innings Tuesday night to pick up their second straight win.

Starting pitcher Derek Duffy (Franklin Pierce) turned in a quality start, working six innings. He allowed two runs on six hits while striking out seven and walking four. Dean Stramara (Towson) pitched three innings and allowed one unearned run on no hits to pick up the win. He struck out four and walked one. Danny Devereux (Washington and Lee) struck out two in the 10th to earn his fourth save of the season.

Garrett Marchand (JMU) was 2-for-4 and hit his first homer of the season. Brendan Cutting (Nova Southeastern) was also 2-for-4.

On Monday, the Braves turned back Charlottesville 7-2.

Wade Strain (William & Mary) pitched strong innings to earn the victory. He allowed one run on six hits while striking out four and walking two.

Richard Miller (Towson) was 2-for-4 with a homer and four RBIs and was named the VBL Hitter of the Day by All Things Valley League. Max Wood (UCF) was 3-for-4.
